Ich wurde bei einem meiner letzten Posts gefragt, mehr Fotos (auch Innenaufnahmen) von unserem Wohnmobil zu zeigen. In Lincoln IL, besuchten wir diesen Mann: Abraham Lincoln, wie er auf seinem riesigen "Railsplitter Covered Wagon" sitzt und im Gesetzbuch liest, eine Anspielung auf sein Leben als Anwalt, ehe er einst als 16. das Amt des Präsidenten der Vereinigten Staaten übernahm. ![DSC_2818.jpeg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmWfH87KGWiG7vTdwY72qbQ83CuCPgiEYVSFqFn1AXSL1G)

Ausserdem gibt es in Springfield noch die berühmten Cosy Dogs, im Teigmantel servierte Hot Dogs, welche bei keinem Bericht über die Route 66 fehlen dürfen. Natürlich sind wir hier eingekehrt und haben die Spezialität getestet. Die Fahrt führte anschliessend vorbei an Saint Louis. Wir konnten aus Zeitgründen leider nur die Silhouette der schönen Stadt im Sonnenuntergang betrachten. Beim nächsten Mal steht aber mit Sicherheit der Besuch dieser quirligen Metropole an. Da ich gerade das Steuer übernommen hatte, konnte ich dieses Foto nicht machen. In totaler Dunkelheit kamen wir anschliessend auf dem KOA West Saint Louis in Eureka an. In Springfield there are also the famous Cosy Dogs, hot dogs served in a dough coat, which cannot be missing in any report about Route 66. Of course we stopped by here and tested the speciality. The journey then led past Saint Louis. Due to lack of time we could only see the silhouette of the beautiful city in the sunset. The next time we will surely visit this lively metropole. Since I had just taken the driving wheel, I could not take this photo. In total darkness we arrived at the KOA West Saint Louis in Eureka.
