Community

It's all about creating a group of people wanting to post great content. It really has to work as a community. It's not an individualistic place where you are out to find monetary gains you must really be looking to contribute great content and also read great content for the sake of the site. I recently read the steem_whitepaper.pdf because I was growing frustrated with peoples interpretation of what Steem actually stood for and what the goal of the project was. I am a writer and economist who stumbled across Steemit simply by browsing around the internet. I was looking for information about digital currencies and what I found was so much more than simply information. I found an idea of a sharing community that powers itself and challenges its members to write and share. I think it's an amazing thing!

The system built on trust

I have read various posts regarding all of the ways that the Steemit community is not fair. I tend to disagree with some of these ideas. It's not about trying to game the system and it's not in your best interest to try and do so. Within the steem_whitepaper.pdf there is an in depth explanation of the rewards system. It essentially is an algorithm for promoting a system that does't allow the users to take shortcuts on reading content or rating it. You have to spend the time and give tit he thought so you might as well enjoy your time while on here. I have read some amazing stories on the site and i'm looking forward to adding some great creative content. It's really about challenging yourself to find great content to put on the site.
